Lansing-based Vanguard Public Affairs – a full-service strategic communications firm – has promoted two employees as a result of their continued positive commitment to the company and has added a new associate, officials said today.
Katherine Erickson has been promoted from Vice President to Senior Vice President and Kristin Revere has been promoted from Director of Strategic Engagement to Vice President.
“These two extraordinary women have been instrumental in our positive growth over the course of the last year, and we are thrilled they are both staying with our company long-term,” said TJ Bucholz, Vanguard Public Affairs President and Chief Executive Officer. “It’s a privilege to work alongside such terrific practitioners.”
Erickson, who has been with Vanguard since its inception in 2014, is a 25-year master public relations professional specializing in strategic communications. She has experience in providing public relations services for a wide array of clients. She holds a master’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio.
Additionally, Ashlea Phenicie joins Vanguard as an Associate. Phenicie is a December 2015 Magna Cum Laude of Central Michigan University, where she majored in integrative public relations and minored in media design production and technology. She also holds a social media certification from CMU. Phenicie will assist with social media marketing, graphic design, fundraising coordination, and promotion of the company’s Vanguard Voices project.
The moves continue an upwardly mobile pathway for the company. In December 2015, Vanguard and Grand Rapids-based 834 Design & Marketing announced a strategic partnership which combines the unique resources and talents of both companies to benefit current and prospective clients. In November 2015, Vanguard announced the hire of former journalist and public relations practitioner Andrew Heller as Vice President.
