New Year, New Resolutions
Every year, I sit down and put together a laundry list of new year’s resolutions I’d like to accomplish. It’s a new year and that means 365 new chances and 12 new chapters ahead of me. As Hillary DePiano said, “we all get the exact same 365 days. The only difference is what we do with them.”
Unfortunately, like everyone else, I usually forget the majority of my resolutions within the first few weeks of the year. This year I want to make a conscious effort to follow through with these resolutions to help me grow personally and professionally.
My 2017 Resolutions:
1. Save more money
I will save more from every paycheck in order to pay off student loans and travel more frequently.
2. Drink more water
Drinking water helps your body in a number of ways. I will increase my water intake to cut down on headaches, improve skin color and texture and let me think clearer and be happier.
3. Eat healthier
I am passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. I go to the gym at least five times a week but the hard part is eating a balanced diet. Meal prepping for the week will help cut back on eating unhealthy foods.
4. Take time for self-care
I want to make it a priority to cut time out for me every week by reading more, getting a massage or a haircut and having alone time.
5. Attend professional development conferences
As a young professional I am constantly trying to fine tune and learn new skills. I’d like to attend conferences to gain a new skill set in order to excel professionally.
