October 11, 2018

Vanguard Public Affairs announces the hiring of Devin Rittenhouse as its fundraising manager.  In this new position, Rittenhouse will work with Vanguard’s diverse group of clients to increase development opportunities and assist in fundraising efforts throughout the political cycle.

Rittenhouse graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2017 with a degree in Political Science and Middle East Studies. Since then, he has been actively involved in West Michigan politics, working in a fundraising capacity on both local and statewide campaigns.

“Even at such a young age, Devin has years of experience in political and nonprofit fundraising,” said Vanguard Public Affairs President and CEO TJ Bucholz. “We’re excited to see him continue to develop his skills while assisting our current clients on their various campaigns and fundraising projects.”

Before joining Vanguard, Rittenhouse served as a finance assistant for the Pat Miles for Attorney General campaign. He has also worked with the Kent County Democratic Party to lead major fundraising events, such as its yearly Gala.

“Vanguard is a highly regarded public affairs firm and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help them continue to grow,” Rittenhouse said. “Each client we work with is determined to make a positive impact in our state and I’m excited to help them achieve their goals by creating strong campaigns and successful fundraising initiatives.”

Rittenhouse is currently working on the campaigns of two Vanguard clients, serving as campaign manager for Rachel Hood, candidate for the 76th House District, and finance director for Sarah Anthony, candidate for the 68th House District.

Vanguard is a full-service public affairs firm with a workforce of 12 practitioners, specializing in strategic communications, fundraising, media relations, message development, public affairs, crisis communications and digital media. It currently represents clients in four states, ranging from education, municipal government, financial services, law firms, consumer products, transportation, and campaigns and elections.
