We're Hiring: Fundraising Intern

Vanguard Public Affairs — a leading Lansing, Michigan-based public affairs and strategic communications firm — is seeking a motivated fundraising intern to assist our various nonprofit clients.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Assist in the creation of fundraising marketing campaigns for donors

  • Provide database support by creating, updating and managing donor information

  • Support fundraising team with prospecting and pitching of new funders

  • Write campaign content and fundraising solicitations alongside staff

  • Work with art department and communications managers to create and update marketing/branding materials

  • Work with fellow interns on group assignments

  • Provide administrative support as necessary

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Open to current college students or recent graduates

  • Proficient with Google Drive, Microsoft Office suite and MailChimp

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize daily tasks

  • Must work well with others and have a team-oriented mindset

  • Must be positive, self-motivated, and readily accept feedback

  • Ability to attend/staff client fundraising events as needed

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit, sales, etc.
