Vanguard Public Affairs, a Lansing-based public affairs firm, is celebrating its five-year anniversary as a company this May with two important growth opportunities: expanding its office to Detroit and promoting former MLive Executive Jen Eyer to Partner.
“Growing as a firm while servicing clients effectively and efficiently has always been the goal since I started this company five years ago,” said President and Managing Partner TJ Bucholz. “Now, with a staff of 14 people, I’m thrilled we are making substantive progress. Promoting Jen to Partner and expanding our business portfolio to include the metro Detroit area are two important steps for our continued success as an organization.”
Over the last five years, Vanguard has broadened its client list to include local and statewide political campaigns, nonprofit organizations and a variety of associations. With clients located in Detroit, Vanguard plans to open an office in TechTown, an entrepreneurship hub within the city, sometime in June 2019.
“Establishing a new home in Detroit is essential to the growth of our organization,” Bucholz said. “Having a footprint in Michigan’s largest city is critical and a terrific opportunity to make our staff and office more accessible to current and prospective clients.”
In December, Vanguard promoted Eyer to Partner and she continues to be an essential part in contributing to the company’s collective work and strategic approach since joining the company in 2016. Her impressive repertoire of skills comprises significant media relations and strategic planning experience for a wide array of political, labor and nonprofit clients.
“I couldn’t be more proud to be a partner in this firm, especially after all its success in the last five years,” Eyer said. “I’m excited to work alongside TJ and the Vanguard staff as we continue to build and grow the company together in the years to come.”
