It's a mixed polling bag for President Donald TRUMP in Michigan as 55% don't want Congress to impeach him, but in a re-election bid in 2020, the Vanguard-Denno statewide survey suggests he would lose by 10 points to an unnamed opponent.
"It's clear he doesn't yet stand a good chance of being elected to a second term by Michigan voters . . . They would elect literally anyone over him," concluded T.J. BUCHOLZ, president of Vanguard Public Affairs.
The May 8-10, 600-person survey also showed U.S. Sen. Gary PETERS has a 42%-36% edge over an unidentified GOP challenger. This led Bucholz to observe that if the Republicans put up a "dynamic candidate, Peters could have a fight on his hands."
