Tell us about your role at Vanguard.
I am the Communications Manager at Vanguard Public Affairs. As the Communications Manager, I spearhead social media calendaring and content creation, public affairs projects, media relations and graphic design. As I grow as a young professional, I am thrilled to make an impact on Vanguard and our outstanding clients.
What issues are most important to you?
Health care is an issue near and dear to my heart. I grew up in a middle class family and always went to the doctor. I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age 11, which led to a life of constantly arranging doctor appointments. I met people my age whose families could not afford the medications needed to ease their unbearable pain. I live life with a chip on my shoulder because of my disease, but there are so many people who have it worse than me. I am extremely passionate about being an advocate for those who do not have access to the health care they greatly need.
How do you define success?
Professionally, I never want to find myself in a situation where there is nothing new left to learn or achieve. I am invigorated by new, complex challenges. I consider it a success if I can leave work every day feeling satisfied that I have learned something new.
